Dewitt House
Residence in Dewitt, NY
A major renovation and addition transformed this 1950's house in Dewitt. The goal was to meet the needs of a growing family who lost their home due to a fire.
Kin Studio was commissioned to design an addition to their house. The addition included a master bedroom with a master bathroom, walk-in closet, laundry room, and larger guest bedroom on the second floor. On the first floor we added a mudroom, completely re-imagined the kitchen and dining area.
The existing house sits tightly in between the lots. The addition was designed to take advantage of the existing flat roof above the garage, and fit neatly into the setbacks of the home all while complementing the existing architecture of the home.
